Wan Thai Street Food on Northenden Road has confirmed its opening date for this Friday (06 October).

Its Thailand-born owner, Pathamaporn Cowsill, known as Wan, has lived in the UK for over 20 years but “hasn’t been able to find any restaurants serving authentic Thai street food”, so has decided to take matters into her own hands and own their own restaurant.

Wan said: “I've decided to bring you Wan Thai Street Food restaurant where everyone can try authentic Thai street food, I hope it will be your favourite and most enjoyed restaurant to eat delicious dishes and I can't wait to see you all.”

"When I first moved to the UK from Thailand working in restaurants as a waiter was my first job here, [I] always had a passion for food and loved cooking from a young age but never imagined I’d be able to achieve my dreams which was having a restaurant of my own to make my mark as a Thai woman in the UK".

Street food favourites including Pad Kia Pao will feature on the menu, plus authentic  specials and dishes for vegetarians and vegans
