Manchester Half Marathon 2023: Route and road closures in Sale

Over 16,5000 people will be pounding through the streets of Sale on Sunday 15 October for the Manchester Half Marathon 2023.

It is one of the biggest half marathons in the area and probably the flattest in the UK (although runners might not be thinking that by mile 11!)

What is the half marathon route?

The Half Marathon starts and ends near Old Trafford and the 13.1-mile course will enter the city centre, with a stretch along Deansgate and within sight of some Manchester landmarks including Manchester Central Library, Manchester Opera House and the Beetham Tower.

How are roads affected in Sale on the day?

Bus travellers and drivers should expect diversions on the day, with many roads completely closed for several hours, including parts of Cross Street, Washway Road and Dane Road.
