It is one of the biggest half marathons in the area and probably the flattest in the UK (although runners might not be thinking that by mile 11!)

What is the half marathon route?

The Half Marathon starts and ends near Old Trafford and the 13.1-mile course will enter the city centre, with a stretch along the Bridgewater Way and within sight of some Manchester landmarks.

How are roads affected in Sale on the day?

Bus travellers and drivers should expect diversions on the day, with many roads completely closed for several hours, including parts of Cross Street, Washway Road, Broad Road and Dane Road.

With the Manchester Half Marathon fast approaching, True Physio in Sale is offering a 2-for-1 sports massage deal for all marathon participants. This exclusive offer aims to help runners perform at their best and recover quickly after the race.

They know that sports massage is a key part of both pre-race preparation and post-race recovery. “We understand the physical demands that a half marathon puts on the body, and we’re excited to support runners with this special offer,” commented Tina Thomson, clinic manager and lead physiotherapist at True Physio.

“Sports massage can make a significant difference in performance and recovery, and our goal is to help marathoners feel their best before and after the race.”

Sale local and marathon runner, Chris gave True Physio a 5-star recommendation on Google following his treatment with the clinic,

“I got a back injury two weeks out from Manchester Marathon 2024, which I thought would rule me out. This was really disappointing as I had invested a lot of time into my training in the preceding months.”

He goes on to explain the impact of True Physio’s support in the race, “I was not only able to get to the start line injury-free but also get a PB. So, I couldn't recommend Jess and the practice highly enough. Thank you so much for your expertise, clinical support and advice.”.

Claim this 2-for-1 offer

The 2-for-1 sports massage offer is available from now until 31 October 2024. Manchester Half Marathon participants and local runners can book via therapies@truephysio.co.uk or by calling the clinic directly on 0161 972 0512 and referencing MCR-Runners-2-for-1.
