Trafford Council has committed this funding to revamp School Road, a busy street in Sale town centre, with the aim of enhancing the shopping experience for residents, visitors and businesses alike.

The planned refresh includes the installation of new lighting, bins, bollards and signage, all of which will contribute to a cleaner, more inviting environment. In addition, street planters along School Road will be repaired and repainted. As part of the improvements, the entire street will also receive a jet wash clean, giving the high street a much-needed facelift.

This investment is a positive step for Sale town centre, as Trafford Council continues to prioritise the regeneration of the borough’s high streets. The improvements are set to begin soon, with work expected to be completed by the end of November.

Councillor Liz Patel, Executive Member for Economy and Regeneration at Trafford Council, said:
“We are committed to rejuvenating our town centres, and the work on School Road is a key part of these efforts. These improvements will benefit not just local businesses but also the community and visitors.”

The work on the planters has been developed in collaboration with Sale Town in Bloom, an initiative that continues to make a positive impact on the area. The council hopes that these changes will create a more welcoming space and attract more footfall to local shops and businesses.

Jane Poole, chair of Sale Town in Bloom, added: “We’ve been working hard to improve the planters around Sale Town Centre, supported by local businesses and community organisations. It’s great that the council are matching this with a commitment to improving School Road which will make the whole area look greener for everyone visiting Sale.”

With this welcome investment, School Road is on track to become an even brighter and more accessible part of Sale’s town centre.
