A well-known florist in Ashton on Mersey village, owner Therese Roberts said in a Facebook post today that its last day selling fresh flowers or bouquets will be Saturday 28th January.

The post said:

“This has not been an easy decision to make, and it is with great sadness that I am having to inform you that due to all of the current circumstances affecting many small businesses, energy prices, rents, fuel prices and stock prices regretfully we are having to close our shop.‬

“Our last day selling fresh flowers or bouquets will be Saturday 28th January.

Any orders already taken will be honoured. But will be having a big sale of any stock in the shop.

“Please try and support your small local independent businesses. Use them or lose them!! For all your floral needs please go and see Ali at Diddibox or Ken Frasers [sic].

Therese added: “I am truly sorry and really upset that I am having to close but are very thankful to all of my customers, many of whom have become great friends over the years.”
