Sale Moor development consultation open: Have your say
Trafford Council is asking residents for their views on the future development of Sale Moor.
The Council wants all stakeholders, residents and businesses to take part in the consultation which opened today (16 January).
Back in 2019, the Council instructed Nexus Planning and a wider team of sub-consultants to prepare ‘Place Plans’ for the village. The plans were subject to a wide range of public and stakeholder consultation throughout 2020 and were progressed at a time when the Covid pandemic was beginning to have a full effect on the way we were socialising and using our town centres.
The plans were drafted but then withdrawn to be revisited at a time when the country was back to a degree of ‘normality’. The Council is now looking to update plans to ensure they are relevant and pick up on the changes to the way we use our centres following the pandemic and reflect the aspirations of stakeholders within each centre.
Councillor Liz Patel, Executive Member for Economy and Regeneration, said: “Our village centres in Hale and Sale Moor are really important to residents and play a key role in community life. This consultation is an opportunity for us to understand how they can be shaped in a way which meets the needs of communities and businesses now and in the future. These Place Plans will be incredibly useful when funding opportunities arise as we can use them to demonstrate what matters most to our communities and businesses. There are opportunities to engage with the consultation both in person and online and I would like to encourage as many residents as possible to take the time to make their views known.”
The public consultation formally opens on 16 January 2023 and runs until 17 February 2023.
Half-day consultation events open to all residents, businesses and stakeholders will be held on 23 January 2023, 2-7pm at Trinity Methodist Church, Trinity Road, Sale.
