The open event on Saturday 06 April will include an introduction to organic growing and a farm tour. It is an opportunity for people to head down to one of Sale’s best ‘hidden gems’.

The site is open from 9am-12pm and the tour will take place from 10am. This is a free event and everyone is welcome.

About Glebelands Organic Produce

Glebelands Organic Produce is an organic market garden in Sale. It’s a bit of a hidden gem in M33 and many local residents remain unaware of its existence.

Dan Larke (pictured above) took over the site in 2021, after completing several volunteering positions at farms across the UK.

Passerbys might be surprised at what lies at the end of a fairly non-descript pathway just off Glebelands Road. The site is home to three large, permanent polytunnels, a sizable greenhouse and some portable polytunnel structures.

The team grows mostly salad crops throughout the season, which account for nearly half of the business’s income. As they are fast-growing crops, leafy herbs and salads can bring in quite a high income more quickly. The rest of the growing space is taken up by crops such as spring onions, radishes and courgettes to name just a few.
