Comic Con is an event for superhero, television and film lovers to come to show off their cosplay costumes and meet some of the stars of their favourite TV series and films.

The event will take place on Saturday 08 June 2024 at Stanley Square and is being organised by Wow Events.

Pop culture superfans will have a chance to get up close to comic artists, writers, TV stars and props inspired by Doctor Who and all of your favourite superheroes.

The event will host a costume and cosplay competition where visitors can show off their best outfits representing characters in pop culture.

John Webster of Wow Events said, “We are delighted to be working with Stanley Square and other local businesses in Sale to bring Sale Comic Con to the town. We have been involved in the comic business and the event industry for many years and with our extensive range of contacts we are able to bring many of the leading writers and artists from the British comic industry to this event including Laura Howell (pictured above right) who is the regular artist on Minnie The Minx in the Beano and Lew Stringer who has over the last 40 years worked on publications for many publishers such as Marvel Comics.

“We will also be joined by guests from television and films such as Phil Fletcher and Hacker T. Dog (CBBC, pictured above left), Willie Coppen from Star Wars and his son George Coppen from various films and shows.

“The event will include traders selling unique comic and film-related items and we will have lots of great attractions such as the Tardis and the Daleks to see. We aim for this to be a fantastic fun, free day out for the whole family!”
