Couple Zoe Doyle and Brad Wilkinson took the reins in December and have already made their mark with a refreshed interior, an expanded drinks menu and a warm welcome for families.

The pair shared their enthusiasm on social media, saying: "It’s been a whirlwind, but we’ve met so many lovely people and are excited to continue putting on entertainment four days a week. We also have more drinks offers and changes on the way!"

Brad, a Sale native who grew up in Ashton upon Mersey and attended Ashton High School, said his return to his hometown was a big factor in taking over the bar, telling Life in Sale: "We’ve run other bars for five years, but coming back to Sale felt like the right move. This is where I grew up and we’re thrilled to build on Dutch Courage’s success," he said.

So, what’s new at Dutch Courage Bar?

Zoe and Brad have already begun a light refurbishment, adding new tables, a dartboard and a jukebox. They’ve also extended the bar’s offerings beyond its well-loved cocktails to include German lagers on draft, rotating guest craft IPAs and coffees.

The venue, previously restricted to over-18s, now welcomes families and remains dog-friendly, making it a more inclusive space for the community.
