Willow sculptor Des Gillan from Willow Goat Crafts, is set to make his mark on season two of the BBC1 show 'Make It At Market'. The popular show, known for its commitment to uplifting makers and small businesses, is scheduled to premiere on the 27 of November, with Des's episode airing on Wednesday 29 November at 4.30pm.

Presented by Dom Chinea 'Make It At Market' is a programme designed to guide and mentor individuals in the creative industries, offering valuable insights from successful entrepreneurs and creatives.

Des, a dad of three girls and Dunphy the Labradoodle, found a second career in willow weaving after taking ill health retirement from teaching. He launched Willow Goat Crafts in 2020.

In the show, presenter Dom Chinea and his team of business and craft experts guide the participants through transformative challenges, testing their ability to turn their crafting hobbies into a viable full time business.

For Willow Goat Crafts, the experience offered a significant opportunity to showcase the skills and passion behind Des’s willow crafts. Des said: "Make It at Market showcases what I have to offer and how I can work within the community on a variety of projects. I have loved every minute of the experience and I hope to inspire other crafters to pursue their dreams and never give up by offering viewers an insight into the story behind Willow Goat Crafts."

You can watch Des' episode on Wednesday 29 November at 4:30pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
