Sale Sharks reach the Gallagher Premiership final for the first time in 17 years

The team is one game away from their first league title since 2006.

Sale Sharks made their home semi-final even more memorable by emerging victorious against Leicester Tigers today (May 14) and booking a place in their first Premiership final in nearly two decades.

Sale beat the Tigers 21-13 with tries from Tom Roebuck and Arron Reed, as well as two penalties by George Ford, which turned out to be enough to send them to the final at Twickenham for the first time in 17 years, having last made it there in 2006 when they won their only Premiership title against Leicester.

The Sharks are now set to face off against Saracens, who finished five points clear above Sale at the top of the table over the course of the calendar season.

The Premiership Rugby Grand Final takes place on Saturday 27 May, kick-off at 3pm.
