Sale to host Christmas Comic Con this December
Following the overwhelming success of its first-ever Comic Con earlier this year, Sale is gearing up for a festive edition of the event.

Sale Christmas Comic Con will take place on Saturday 07 December 2024 at various locations in Sale town centre, including Stanley Square, Sale Library and Emporium M33. The event will bring together pop culture fans, comic creators, TV stars and cosplayers for a day of fun, fantasy and fandom.
The first Sale Comic Con saw hundreds of additional visitors flock to the town centre, transforming the town centre into a vibrant hub of creative costumes and beloved comic characters. Organised by Wow Events, the upcoming Sale Christmas Comic Con promises to build on that excitement with a fantastic line-up of guests and attractions.
John Webster of Wow Events said: “Everyone had such a good time at our summer event that we were asked to come back and do it all over again for Christmas, only make it even bigger and better.
“This time round we will have a bit of a Star Wars theme and I am delighted to say that we will have Darth Vader himself as our special guest star! Spencer Wilding, who played Vader in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, will be joining us.”
Sale Christmas Comic Con will also welcome several top comic artists and writers, including Brian Clarke and John Jackson, creators of The Mancunian, as well as Neil Roche, Colin Mathieson, Dan Whitehead and Barry Renshaw. Beano fans will also have the chance to meet Nigel Parkinson, an artist behind the iconic comic, and get their Beano annuals signed.
TV legends Phil Fletcher and Hacker T. Dog (CBBC) are returning to delight fans and sci-fi lovers will be thrilled to meet Clem So, who has appeared in countless major sci-fi and fantasy franchises. Plus, a Star Wars X-Wing Fighter is sure to attract enthusiasts from a galaxy far, far away!
The event will include cosplay competitions, traders selling unique comic and film merchandise that will make great Christmas gifts, plenty of comic books and a chance to meet your favourite characters. It’s set to be a great, family-friendly day out to get you into the Christmas spirit!
