Popular Sale restaurant 'absolutely ecstatic' as it celebrates first birthday

One of Sale’s newest food hotspots has celebrated its first birthday after a successful 12 months.

Petisco in Stanley Square opened in the aftermath of the Covid lockdowns in 2022, and has been serving up Portuguese-inspired small plates to the people of Sale ever since. The restaurant is shop is co-owned by chef Jonny Nolan, his brother Sam Nolan and childhood friends Paul Kiely and Rowland Thatcher.

Celebrating their first anniversary yesterday, the team behind Petisco said in a social media post:

“We’re absolutely ecstatic to be celebrating our first birthday - and what a year it’s been!

We’d like to thank all of our amazing staff and guests for making our first year one to remember.”

There is absolutely no doubt that Petisco has been an incredible addition to Sale’s food and drink scene. It’s picked up glowing reviews from customers and critics alike and their bravery in opening a brand new place after such a turbulent few years has definitely been rewarded.

We can’t wait to see Petisco get bigger and (even) better in the coming years! 🇵🇹
