The renewed store on Washway Road opened at 8am today (Wednesday 12 February) after over four weeks of closure for the works.

Staff were joined by familiar faces – special guests Percy Pig and Colin the Caterpillar – to officially declare the store open. Plus, a giant inflatable Percy Pig in the car park caught the attention of passersby!

Inside the brand-new fresh market-style store customers will find a bakery with a selection of fresh breads, as well as offering takeaway hot drinks, including barista-made coffee.

A selection of ‘Remarksable’ value everyday staples will also be available across the store, price benchmarked against key competitors.

Other highlights include a revamped Flower Shop and Wine Shop, as well as Click and Collect for online Clothing, Home and Beauty orders.

With Easter on its way, M&S Sale shoppers are also able stock up on a selection of Easter eggs and sweet treats especially for the occasion.

There is also an aisle dedicated to ‘Made Without’ products (above right), for those seeking wheat-, gluten- or dairy-free options.

The layout is similar to the rebrand that’s been rolled out across M&S Food stores across the UK. As part of that the store is now M&S Food – rather than M&S Food Hall.
