M&S Foodhall in Sale to close for four weeks for ‘welcome’ refurbishment

Sale’s M&S Foodhall on Washway Road is set to temporarily close this week for a refurbishment.

M&S Foodhall, Sale

The popular store will close on Saturday 11 January, with hopes to reopen nearly five weeks later on Wednesday 12 February, with a host of exciting updates in store for shoppers.

The revamp will include the installation of new flooring, upgraded fridges and an expanded bakery area – a feature that’s sure to be a hit with local bread and pastry enthusiasts!

An M&S source confirmed the plans, saying the updates are designed to enhance the shopping experience and modernise the store’s interior.

Local reactions to the closure have been mixed. While many customers are excited about the improvements, other super shoppers have jokingly asked, “what will I do now?!” The short-term inconvenience, however, appears to be outweighed by the anticipation of a fresh and updated shopping space.

Those who’ve visited recently may have noticed stock levels running lower than usual, a clear sign of preparations for the closure. Online shoppers should also note that the Sale branch will not be available for order collections during the refurbishment period.

The refurbishment marks another step in Sale’s ongoing evolution and while residents may have to adjust their grocery routines for a few weeks, they’ll soon have a spruced-up M&S Foodhall to enjoy.
