Marco passed away on 17 May in Rome, just months after being diagnosed with terminal cancer. His passing leaves a void in the hearts of many, but his legacy lives on through the cherished memories and delicious pizzas he created.

Marco, along with his partner Valentina and their children, was celebrated for his warm smiles, engaging chatter, and, of course, his amazing food. As one resident fondly put it, the family "brought the Roman sun to Sale Moor." The authentic, square-cut Roman pizzas they introduced quickly became a local favourite, earning Ceresis a reputation for quality and friendly service.

Despite the heartbreaking loss, Valentina is determined to continue the dream she and Marco built together. "Ceresis was Marco's dream, and I will come back for him, to bring back Marco's pizza," she shared. The shop, known for its playful slogan 'Mad Fer Wheat,' a nod to the famous Manchester phrase 'Mad Fer It!,' will reopen, continuing to offer the beloved tastes of Italy that Marco was so passionate about.

To support Valentina and her family during this challenging time, local resident Sharon Coen has organised a fundraiser on GoFundMe

The fundraiser aims to assist Valentina and her children as they navigate this difficult period and work towards reopening Ceresis. The community's support will be crucial in helping them sustain the dream that Marco envisioned and worked so hard to establish.

As Sale Moor eagerly awaits the reopening of Ceresis, in the meantime, the community is encouraged to donate to the fundraiser in Marco's name, ensuring that his legacy continues to thrive.
