Friends of Moor Nook Park seek new volunteers

The Friends of Moor Nook Park are looking for new volunteers to join their community group and help continue the great work they've been doing over the past few years.

The group is hosting a litter pick, informal meeting and Annual General Meeting (AGM) this Sunday (27 October), starting at 2pm.

The afternoon will begin with a litter pick at 2pm, with volunteers meeting at the bowling hut in the park. This will be followed by the AGM at 3pm at the community centre, where the group will share information about future plans and how new members can get involved.

Over the years, Friends of Moor Nook Park have organised a variety of events, including the well-attended Apple Festival and have made significant improvements to the park, such as installing new benches and enhancing the basketball and tennis courts. Regular litter-picking events have also helped keep the park clean and enjoyable for everyone.

Local residents are encouraged to attend on Sunday, either to volunteer or simply to learn more about the group’s efforts.
