“Running a business is hard”: Ashby’s Greengrocers announces it is up for sale

Ashby’s Greengrocers has announced that the business is up for sale.

Owners Abbey and Ashley made the announcement today (06 September) on social media. While this news may come as a surprise to their loyal customers, Ashby’s is still open and trading as usual for the time being.

The pair shared that the decision to sell was not made lightly. "Running a business is hard," they wrote, "and we’ve tried everything we can to make things work. But putting the shop up for sale has been the hardest decision we’ve had to make." Despite the challenges, they remain hopeful for the future, expressing their desire for the shop to continue serving the community under new ownership.

Ashby’s, known for its fresh, organic and locally sourced produce, serves lunchtime salads and quality seasonal vegetables – the shop has made its mark by prioritising healthy, ethical food choices.

“We’re not going anywhere just yet,” the post reassures customers, encouraging the community to continue shopping locally. “We will continue to serve you guys with the best organic fruit & veggies until we figure out what’s next.” The owners are open to offers and hope to pass the business on to someone who shares their passion for good quality produce and community spirit.

For those who love the shop, now is the time to show support. Shop small, shop local and let’s keep Sale’s high street alive! Whether you’re picking up your favourite tomatoes or enjoying their delicious daily salads, every visit helps.

Abbey and Ashley have expressed their heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported them so far. Let’s continue to back Ashby’s while they remain a fixture in our town – after all, their story isn’t over yet!
