Emergence Dance returns to Waterside with exciting triple-bill
Emergence Dance comes back to Waterside with a triple-bill of dance works.
Emergence is a touring company of postgraduate dance students from the University of Salford led by artistic director Joss Arnott and programme leader Deborah Milner.
Emergence presents three brand-new works created for and with the company, including world premieres by choreographers FLOCK (Alice Klock and Florian Lochner), Anthony Missen and company artistic director, Joss Arnott.
International choreographers Alice Klock and Florian Lochner (FLOCK) have created a physically charged and luscious piece that demonstrates the dancer’s technical skill, exploring the idea that we are more powerful than we know.
Anthony Missen, the co-artistic director of Company Chameleon, presents a new work that captures the raw physicality of the dancers brought to life on stage through their virtuosity and strength as performers.
Artistic director, Joss Arnott, completes the bill with a new work for the full company celebrating the interplay between movement and music, individuality and states of euphoria, all of which is accompanied by an electrifying new percussive musical score by composer James Keane.
Speaking about the tour Joss Arnott said “I am delighted to have invited 3 dynamic choreographers to make new works with the company. FLOCK and Anthony all have strong yet unique dance languages and I am certain that audiences will be enthralled by how our company of exceptionally talented young dancers have interpreted their vision.”
