Sale to mark King’s coronation with community events

Sale is set to mark the King’s coronation with a number of special events focused on community fun for the whole family.

Now we know not everyone is keen to celebrate the coronation this coming weekend, but these events are a good opportunity to make the most of the bank holiday weekend, so feel free to ignore the 'coronation' bit!

Check out the best events happening this weekend in Sale.

Picnic at Worthington Park
Monday 08 May, 12-4pm

Take advantage of the bank holiday and join the Friends of Worthington Park for their community picnic. Expect music on the bandstand from Sale Salvation Army Band, the Glasshouse Bootleg Choir, Longford Community Choir and Artful Voices Choir.

Food and drink will be available on the day from Extreme Coffee, who will be serving hotdogs and burgers, plus pizza from mobile pizza provider, Wiggles. And obviously, no community picnic would be complete without an ice cream van! 🍦

There will be a range of stalls from the likes of B&V Trading and Guide Dogs, plus activities and mini-workshops from Willow Goat Crafts and These Mums Do. There will also be a juggling workshop, if you fancy a go!

Take along your furry friend too, as there's a fun dog show taking place from 12.30pm. Classes include 'handsome hound', 'golden oldie' and, our personal favourite, 'waggiest tail'. There will also be a special performance from the Urmston Dog Training display team.

Classes are £2 each, or £6 for all.

📍 Worthington Park, Cheltenham Drive, Sale M33 2DQ

There are also a small number of street parties going ahead across M33.
