Plans submitted to convert Sale Point into 79 apartments
A proposal to convert the 1970s-built Sale Point office block into 79 apartments has been submitted to Trafford Council.
The six-storey building, located on Washway Road in Sale, is currently partially occupied, but the remaining businesses are set to vacate by 2025 to make way for the redevelopment.
The conversion will deliver a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments, according to the design and access statement submitted on behalf of the developer by Pritchard Architectural Design (PAD) on behalf of Chester-based developer Blueoak Estates Ltd. The statement says, “No changes to the external appearance of the building are proposed. A full planning application for changes to the existing windows, the removal of some plant and a limited number of new windows is also being submitted."
Sale Point, which covers 50,000 square feet, has undergone several extensions since its construction, the latest in 2008. Despite the proposed internal changes, the building’s location remains a key feature of the development, with the statement highlighting its proximity to Sale town centre – just 800 metres away – and its excellent connectivity to public transport, pedestrian routes and major highways.
The full planning application for the project is now under consideration under application number 114592/PMA/24. If approved, the conversion will add new residential options to the growing housing market in Sale.
