The Northern Light Cinema names Sale opening date
Sale’s much-anticipated independent cinema, The Northern Light, has confirmed it will open on Wednesday 12 February in Stanley Square.
The boutique venue will feature three state-of-the-art screens, equipped with the latest low-energy laser projection and surround sound technology. With a total of 153 seats, visitors can look forward to choosing from plush armchairs and sofas, creating a cosy and luxurious cinema experience.
Cinema-goers can indulge in a range of refreshments, with a stylish bar space to relax in before or after screenings.
The Northern Light will showcase a wide variety of films, from the latest blockbusters and independent productions to international cinema, classics and even live National Theatre performances and other global events.
This exciting addition to Sale comes courtesy of Manero Cinemas Limited, the family-owned business behind venues like the Rex in Wilmslow and the Savoy in Heaton Moor. The new site will mark the group’s sixth cinema.
Speaking about the new opening, Tony Mundin, owner and managing director of Manero Cinemas previously said: “We are thrilled to bring an affordable, luxury experience to Sale for everyone to enjoy a regular trip to the cinema. We will prioritise service and comfort to ensure everyone has a great time!”
Work to transform the Stanley Square space has seemingly progressed smoothly since its announcement in summer of last year, with updates on social media giving a glimpse of the venue’s stylish and welcoming design. The foyer will feature dark paint tones, wallpaper and wall panelling, complemented by comfortable seating for visitors to unwind.
Each of the three screens has been given a unique colour scheme, with bespoke fabric sofas big enough for two. The cinema will also serve draught beer on tap for those looking for a relaxed, social outing.
This highly anticipated addition has been warmly welcomed by the majority of residents, as it fills a gap in Sale town centre’s entertainment offering. We can't wait for it to open!
