Sale mum and business owner releases book to help tired parents get better sleep

Jemma Munford, a Sale resident, baby sleep consultant and mother of two, has unveiled her new book, The Better Sleep Blueprint: A realistic guide to baby sleep for parents who don’t want to sleep train.

In this guide, Jemma (pictured below) delves into the science of sleep, offering parents an evidence-based approach to navigate the often challenging first two years without resorting to conventional separation and crying-based sleep training tactics.

Motivated by her desire to provide a more compassionate and achievable solution for sleep-deprived parents, Munford said, “I wrote this book because I wanted to help parents find a way to get better sleep without having to resort to cry it out or use other harsh methods that don’t feel right to them.

“I know how hard it is to be sleep-deprived, and I wanted to offer parents a solution that was both achievable and compassionate.”

Drawing on neuroscience, positive parenting and attachment theories, The Better Sleep Blueprint equips parents with practical tips and strategies. It helps them identify routines that are conducive to both their babies' and their sleep patterns. The book also encompasses a section dedicated to common sleep issues and their solutions.

Jemma believes in setting realistic expectations around baby sleep and encourages parents not to feel pressured into strategies that don’t align with their parenting style.

“I believe that every parent should have realistic expectations for baby sleep and not feel pushed into doing something that doesn't align with how they want to parent.

"The Better Sleep Blueprint is everything I wished I had known when I had my first baby and felt lost, confused and in need of sound advice."
