The award-winning parks in Sale are Walkden Gardens, Walton Park and Worthington Park.

These parks are managed by the One Trafford Partnership, in collaboration with volunteer Friends of Parks groups. Their efforts ensure that the parks consistently meet the standards required for the Green Flag Award throughout the year, these include aesthetics, horticulture, biodiversity, community involvement, historical features and conservation standards.

Overall, the borough of Trafford is celebrating 11 Green Flag awarded parks and green spaces.

The collaborative efforts of One Trafford and Friends have ensured that some of the UK’s top green spaces are right here in Trafford. These spaces are crucial for both community and environmental wellbeing, featuring biodiverse wildflower meadows and improved wildlife habitats."

Councillor Rose Thompson, Executive Member for Communities and Safety, added: "The success of these Green Flag parks highlights the strong partnerships and collaborative efforts between the One Trafford Partnership, Friends of Parks groups, and the local community. The community's support and the dedication of volunteers allow us to create safe, inclusive and beautiful spaces for everyone to enjoy.”
