Propeller Coffee to close in Sale following a “25% rent increase”
The owner of Propeller Coffee in Sale has announced it will close later this year.

Benny Au at Propeller Coffee on Northenden Road, posted an emotional update on Instagram saying:
Hey you, lovely people of Sale,
An increase in rent by 25% (and failing to negotiate a deal with the landlord) forces us to make this hard decision🤬. It is therefore with our deepest regret that we are having to announce the departure of Propeller in July.
It has been an absolute honour to be a part of the Sale community. We were the first to offer speciality coffee in the area, with a great reputation for providing excellent service and quality food.🥐
We feel humbled by all our regular customers (some became friends) and neighbouring businesses. We have seen many different gatherings, celebrations, birthdays, meetings with friends and family, etc. EVERY PERSON that walked through our doors has been a part of Propeller, and that is all we wanted right from the beginning: A community; a local, friendly coffee shop that gave back to the people of Sale.🏘️
I (Benny) cannot thank enough all those who have supported us from the start since 2018, especially through the pandemic. Also, we would like to thank our suppliers for providing us with all the high quality and fresh produce at great prices, knowing that the economy was crashing and the cost of living rising.💹
Lastly, I would like to say a massive thank you to ‘TEAM PROPELLER’, past and present. They have been a family to me, and seeing all of them progressing into a better career path has been one of the highlights of this journey. 💼
It has been a great ride with all of you, so… Thank you, thank you, thank you!🙏
