Police issue update after man cut free from car following three-vehicle crash on Brooklands Road
No life-changing or life-threatening injuries were reported in a three-vehicle crash in Sale on Sunday evening, police have confirmed.
Police, paramedics and fire crews were called to the scene of the crash on Brooklands Road, near the junction with Whitehall Road, at around 6.30pm on Sunday (14 January)). The road was cordoned off for several hours as emergency crews responded.
The fire service confirmed that one man had to be cut free from a vehicle before being taken to hospital. Another man had 'self-rescued' before crews arrived.
In an update, a spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police confirmed that no life-changing or life-threatening injuries were reported in the incident. It has not been confirmed whether any arrests were made.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMRFS) said after the incident: "At around 6:30pm today (Sunday, 14th January), firefighters were called to reports of a crash at the junction of Whitehall Road and Brooklands Road in Sale. Two fire engines from Sale and Altrincham fire stations, as well as the technical response unit from Ashton fire station quickly arrived at the scene which involved three vehicles.
"One man had self-rescued before the arrival of the fire service, and another was cut from the vehicle and given medical care by fire service personnel, before being transferred to the care of the North West Ambulance Service (NWAS). Crews are still at the scene as they clear the roadway of debris."
