Minikin Art Cafe to relocate to Sale Moor

Minikin Art Cafe, a beloved creative hub in Sale for over 14 years, is preparing to embark on an exciting new chapter.

The art cafe, founded by Claire Oliver in 2010, will relocate to Sale Moor village in 2025, bringing its unique blend of creativity and community to a fresh space.

From Wednesday 22 January, Minikin will open its doors at its new home in the former carpet shop (Tailored Carpets), next to Porta 134 cafe and just three doors down from Taylor’s Butchers. The move marks an exciting opportunity for Minikin to grow its offerings and strengthen its connection to the local community.

Claire grew up in Sale Moor and is thrilled to return to her roots, saying: “This village holds a special place in my heart. I can’t wait to see my dad pop in for his daily cuppas and to welcome customers from near and far, contributing to the vibrant local business community.”

Minikin’s new space will feature all the services its customers know and love, including pottery painting, baby imprints and birthday parties. Additionally, the move will allow the cafe to introduce a dedicated community area. This will support initiatives like its ADHD support group, which offers weekly sessions for adults and plans to extend services to children and their parents.

The new location will also provide more room for collaboration with local artists, hosting creative workshops and evening events where adults can enjoy art therapy sessions in a relaxed atmosphere.

Of course, Minikin’s signature coffee, milkshakes and cakes will continue to be on the menu, offering the perfect complement to a creative day out.

Minikin has long been a part of Sale’s community, building strong ties with local charities and organisations. Claire plans to deepen these connections, working closely with groups such as Home Instead and Trafford Carers to offer tailored support and meaningful opportunities for engagement.

Until the big move, Minikin will continue hosting birthday parties and events at its current Cross Street home, opening on Saturdays as they prepare the new space.

We can’t wait to see the new space!
