Over 14,000 products were put through the competition’s rigorous blind judging process and Manchester Honey Company picked up one of the coveted food and drink awards.

Made from nectar from the flowers that grow in and around M33, the Sale Honey was one of almost 6,000 products to receive a Great Taste award in 2023.

Announcing their win on social media, the Manchester Honey Company said: “This award is for the Sale M33 honey 2023 - well done to all the bees, plants and gardeners in Sale.

“We only enter one variety a year so you can now find our 3-star Urmston Honey 2022 and 1-star Sale Honey 2023.”

Recognised as a stamp of excellence and actively sought out by food lovers and retailers alike, Great Taste, organised by the Guild of Fine Food, values taste above all else.

This year, judging took place over 89 days in Dorset and London, with a panel of more than 500 judges putting the products to the test. The line-up saw food and drink products submitted from 109 different countries across the world.
