Local businesses aim to support independence for older adults in Sale

Two local businesses have teamed up to help older adults and those with mobility challenges maintain their independence and confidence.

Hayley Bonnick (True Physio) and Sian Steeples (Home Instead Altrincham, Sale & Wythenshawe)

Home Instead Altrincham, Sale & Wythenshawe has partnered with True Physio Sale to provide a holistic approach to care, combining expert home care services with physiotherapy, rehabilitation and chiropody support.

The collaboration aims to ensure that individuals can stay active and independent in their own homes, with tailored care that addresses both mobility and general wellbeing. Home Instead’s award-winning home care services, which focus on enabling older adults to remain in familiar surroundings for as long as possible, will now be complemented by True Physio’s expertise in physical health and rehabilitation.

To mark the launch of the partnership, a free community event will be held later this month, offering expert advice on maintaining strength and mobility.

The event takes place on Thursday 27 March at True Physio, 20 Eastway, Sale M33 4DX from 10am-12pm.

Attendees will receive guidance from physiotherapists on movement and fall prevention, while Home Instead care professionals will provide tips on safe moving and positioning techniques to prevent injury. Spaces for the event are limited and those interested are encouraged to sign up as soon as possible.

Sian Steeples, business development manager at Home Instead, emphasised the importance of the partnership: “Older adults often face longer recovery times, and without timely intervention, immobility can lead to a loss of confidence and even hospitalisation. By working together with True Physio, we are offering access to a range of quality services that help improve mobility, prevent falls, and support overall wellbeing.”

Keith Johnstone, clinical director at True Physio, added: “We are passionate about helping people move better and live better. This collaboration with Home Instead allows us to support more individuals in the community, making a real difference in their lives.”

The partnership highlights how local businesses can work together to enhance the lives of those in their community, ensuring that older adults and individuals with mobility challenges feel supported and capable in their daily activities.
