Forest Park Prep plans new classrooms to welcome more pupils

Forest Park Preparatory School in Sale has submitted a planning application to Trafford Council for a new standalone classroom building, allowing it to accommodate more pupils.

The school is seeking permission to demolish an existing classroom, which it describes as being in poor condition and “beyond economic viability” to refurbish.

According to the planning documents, removing the current classroom will also improve access to the school’s rear and playground. The proposed new building would be slightly larger, enabling an increase in pupil numbers from 160 to 175. This expansion would also see the school employ an additional three teaching staff.

The new classrooms would be constructed using structurally insulated panels (SIPs), a modern building method designed for faster construction and better thermal efficiency.

Located next to 35 Oakfield, a historic villa dating back to 1877, the school sits in an area that played a key role in Sale’s transformation from farmland to a residential suburb of Manchester.
