A programme of outdoor yoga returns to Walkden Gardens this week, as part of Sale Festival

Purple Haze Yoga instructor Gaynor Mullin-McGlashan brings her sessions of mindfulness and relaxation to one of Sale’s very best green spaces. This is set to be the 14th year Gaynor has run weekly classes in Walkden Gardens, with at least 50 per cent of the proceeds set to go directly to the Friends of Walkden Gardens.

Classes start on Tuesday 20 June, 6-7pm and will take place every Tuesday at the same time through the summer until 29 August – weather permitting.

Booking is not required, simply turn up armed with a yoga mat and wear something warm for relaxation. Classes are donation based, with a suggested donation of £5 or pay what you can. The sessions are suitable for complete beginners, so if you’ve always wanted to try yoga but haven’t found the time or confidence, these supportive sessions are a great place to start.

Who are the Friends of Walkden Gardens?

Regular visitors to Walkden Gardens might have seen a collection of hard workers tending to the garden from time to time. Those are some of the Friends of Walkden Gardens. They work hard to maintain and improve the gardens throughout the year – and, as one of the best parks in Sale, they certainly do a great job.
