Fiver Fest returns to Sale: Support your local independent shops and makers – and pick up a bargain

A two-week-long event which sees M33 shops and businesses share special £5 offers is set to return later this month.

Residents and visitors alike can get some £5 bargains in the Totally Locally Fiver Fest coming back to Sale from 11th-25th March 2023.

Sale has seen a huge increase in independent businesses in recent years, with the development of independent community hub Emporium M33 and the regeneration of Stanley Square attracting new businesses. After an extremely tough few years (especially for small businesses), campaigns such as Fiver Fest help to show community support for local businesses – many of which we would miss if they weren’t here.

Since its beginning, Sale’s Fiver Fest has been organised by Claire Hines, owner of Shine, an eco gift shop based in Emporium M33. The campaign has previously created a real buzz around town and has helped local shoppers to find businesses they may not have otherwise visited.

At previous Fiver Fests, offers have been imaginative and varied; from £5 book offers to £5 lunch deals, local businesses have really got behind the campaign.

We’ve followed the success of Fiver Fest over recent years and for us, it’s an absolute win-win for both business owners and shoppers. It’s an affordable promotion that allows people to pick a bargain and support local businesses. At a time when value for money is at the forefront of everybody’s minds, Fiver Fest is a welcome initiative!

💭 Thought bubble: Supporting and keeping local businesses in Sale open makes the whole town better. If you spend just £5 per week in M33’s independent shops and businesses, it means much more money goes directly into our local economy.

The simple fact is: your £5 spend really does matter!
