Dosa Kingss, Sale’s south Indian street kitchen, has a number of gluten-free options on their menu, but you will have to ask staff to recommend them, as they are not clearly marked. A large portion of the Dosa Kingss menu is vegetarian and we’ve found many of those dishes are suitable for those looking for gluten-free options.

Greens Sale

If you are navigating the dining scene with dietary restrictions, Greens Sale takes pride in its diverse menu that offers a range of gluten-free options without compromising on flavour or creativity.

Popular GF dishes include confit potato, asparagus and pea velour and sweet potato and spinach dahl.

Mano a Bocca, one of Sale’s best pizza restaurants, has the option of switching to a gluten-free base on any of its pizzas. The staff are always happy to share which toppings will suit a gluten-free diet – just ask!

Massala Lounge

Massala Lounge is a long-standing staple in Sale and remains one of the town’s best Indian restaurants. And it’s good news for those gluten-free eaters too, as it has some gluten-free starters and main courses available, all clearly marked on the menu(s). We wouldn’t say the selection was extensive, but what they do offer, they do very, very well.

Off The Hook

Off The Hook has given fish and chips a gluten-free makeover. This M33 chippy hotspot isn't just frying up some of the finest, crispiest fish you'll ever taste, but they're also creating many dishes without gluten. Try their fish and chips, baked teriyaki salmon or freshly battered scampi – all available gluten-free.

Both takeaway and sit-in options are available.

Petisco 

Petisco is hugely popular with those on a gluten-free diet, as it has a dedicated GF-menu available. Vegetable options include pan-fried patron peppers, tomato rice and grilled long-stem broccoli, while gluten-free meat options include peri-peri chicken skewers, pork belly and grilled flat iron steak. And that's before you even discover their GF fish dishes! 

It's one of the most extensive gluten-free menus in M33, which means you can return again and again and always try something different!

QingDao Red Chilli

Who knew you could eat gluten-free Chinese food? Well, you can! Although GF options are not so clearly marked on the QingDao Red Chilli menu, by asking a staff member you'll be surprised by how many options open up for you.

Roti Sale 

Generally, you can always find a good selection of gluten-free dishes in Indian restaurants and Roti is no different. In fact, they choose to mark the dishes that DO contain gluten, rather than the many that don't!

You can grab some of their brilliant ‘cauli cheese’, mince and patties and achari chicken without having to worry about gluten.

Socrates Taverna

Similarly, Greek menus are solid choices for those searching for gluten-free options and Socrates delivers on options. 

Choose from the likes of Greek souvlaki (pork skewers), baked feta, fried halloumi and falafel. The portions are plentiful, so make sure you're hungry before you arrive!

Veranda 

Similar to some other restaurants on this list, although Veranda does have a selection of dishes available gluten-free, they aren’t marked on the menu. Therefore, always ask a member of staff to share the options with you.

Zumuku Sushi Sale

Most proper, decent sushi is gluten-free (it is ‘just’ fresh fish and rice, after all). However, there are exceptions, so you’re always advised to ask a member of staff if an item is GF before eating it. Zumuku has crafted a bit of a reputation for itself in Sale since opening as a hotspot for great quality food and brilliant service, so if you are searching for gluten-free meals, you will be in good hands.
